2009 CIC Summit Lays Groundwork for Future IZ Initiatives

This year’s California Immunization Coalition (CIC) Summit meeting will feature prestigious speakers to discuss ways to enhance collaboration among stakeholders and promote immunizations across the lifespan.

The 2009 Summit will be held April 21 and 22 in Pasadena. This year’s topics will include the use of new media to influence social change. Interactive plenary and breakout sessions will address best practices, current immunization issues, strategies and activities.

Confirmed speakers include:

  1. Paul Offit, MD, Chief of Infectious Diseases, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)
  2. Litjen Tan, PhD, Director of Infectious Diseases, American Medical Association (AMA)
  3. Lars Ullberg, MA, Assistant Director of Development, Center for the Advancement of Distance Learning (CADE)
  4. Larry Wallack, MPH, DrPH, Dean, College of Urban and Public Affairs, Portland State University

Meeting organizers expect more than 250 physicians, nurses, pharmacists, educators, administrators, and other private and public immunization advocates to attend.
